Elyas Alavi

Daydreamer Wolf

3 May30 June 2018

Chapter House Lane is pleased to host Adelaide based artist Elyas Alavi’s Daydreamer Wolf for Next Wave 2018.

Daydreamer Wolf is a multi-disciplinary exhibition across Chapter House Lane and St Heliers Street Gallery, Abbotsford Convent. Alavi, an award-winning poet and artist, works primarily with painting, installation and video.

Elyas Alavi interrogates displacement, exile and memory. Daydreamer Wolf looks at Alavi’s own personal experience with exile and war, and offers perspectives on conflicts in Afghanistan and the Middle East, which have shaped the lives of a generation around him. The exhibition will include collaborative performances and poetry readings at both Chapter House Lane and Abbotsford Convent.

The exhibition runs at Chapter House Lane from 3 May – 30 June. Please join us on 18 May from 6pm for an opening reception and performance under the archway at Chapter House Lane. Click here to read the exhibition essay by Andy Butler
