Chapter House Lane and Arts Project Australia present an exhibition held at Arts Project Australia, that celebrates the work of six artists engaged in an ongoing collaboration.
In August, Arts Project Australia presents group show: second iteration, which features contemporary artists; Matlok Griffiths, Julian Martin, Georgia Szmerling, Pia Murphy, Benjamin Lichtenstein and Alan Constable who worked collaboratively for the exhibition group show held at Chapter House Lane in 2015-16.
The exhibition rekindles partnerships from the inaugural group show in an expanded exhibition, that brings together new work by the artists including Matlok Griffiths’ charcoal drawings of wonky wheeled automobiles, Julian Martin’s abstract depictions of urban environments, Georgia Szmerling and Pia Murphy’s collection of garden paintings, Benjamin Lichtenstein’s photographic series: I will give everything I have, alongside a selection of ink drawings by Alan Constable.
group show: second iteration serves to showcase the breadth of the work created in 2015 and 2016. Objects on display include works on paper, paintings, ceramics and photographs that were formative to the project or were made as a result of the artistic pairings. The exhibition celebrates the connections between the coupled artists, underscoring the influence of collaborators within each other’s practice.
